My hair won't dye.?

every time i dye my hair the tips of my hair won't dye. they are pitch black and i haven't dyed my hair black. i usually dye it auburn. why is it doing this?

My hair won't dye.?

Your ends are extremely porous so they are grabbing the color more than the rest of your hair. When your porous hair grabs the color it normally grabs the darkest part of the color, causing your ends to look black. There's nothing you can do except to trim your ends after you color your hair.

dye it again or choose another color

Maybe you would have to bleach it. That way the hair dye would stay.

dye it blonde first then wait a day and dye it the colour youd like it to be.

Your ends are probably more porous than the rest, so they are soaking up too much of the hair dye.

Get the ends trimmed off, and the next time you dye your hair, use a "filler" on your hair before you dye, it helps it take more evenly.

You most likely have dry or dead ends. The dye is saturating into the damaged parts of your hair and making the roots darker. Go to the salon and get your dead ends trimmed off. Make sure to use a deep conditioning treatment a few times a week, as dying hair often can dry it out. And when you dye your hair, try to find one color that is permanent, so you can just touch up your roots and not have to dye your whole head. :)
