I am overweight. I want to look prettier. Can anyone give me some makeup tips?

I don't wear makeup normally. I am overweight, i'll admit it. About 275 lbs. My hair is chin length, and I normally use a headband to hold it out of my face. I would appreicate any makeup tips or hair tips. Please be nice. I also have freckles and naturally rosy cheeks. (Irish ancestors) My hair is dry and kind of frizzy all the time, but is naturally curly.

I am overweight. I want to look prettier. Can anyone give me some makeup tips?

I think everybody wants to look prettier. You do. I do. Most of us do. Let's start with your hair, because you want to lose the dry, frizziness. A really great product for deep conditioning your hair is to use organic coconut oil on it. Coconut oil melts below body temperature so it will turn from a solid to a liquid in your hands, but just apply it from roots to tips and then wrap your hair in a plastic wrap, tie it off, and cover with a towel. Using heat is a good idea, too, and make sure you sleep on it before shampooing; this is a good weekend beauty treatment!

You can also use the coconut oil all over your body for smoother and softer skin. I hope you like the scent of coconut, because you will smell like one, lol.

Check out the website where I get mine:

The oil actually has a shelf life of a couple of years. You can even eat it as a dietary supplement. (They explain all that on their website.) Anyway, I trust these people. They have always been fair and honest with me.

After deep conditioning and shampooing your hair, don't use a regular conditioner on it. (It will interfere with the shine and weigh your hair down.) Instead, when your hair is almost dry, use a mousse on it to smooth it, but let it hang long and just flow with the natural curl. You are really lucky to have that natural wave. Also, try not washing your hair every day. I know it sounds kind of grungy, but it actually will keep your hair and your scalp in better condition. Oh, and have any dead ends trimmed before you start pampering your hair -- that alone makes hair happy!

Now, onward to make-up. Well, actually, first the skin care. An excellent product for this is the Aveeno line of oatmeal products. They have relatively inexpensive prices, can be bought at most drug stores, and are really effective. Here is a great link with good prices, too.

I love the Aveeno Basic Moisturizing Bar and also use the Skin Brightening Daily Scrub, along with the Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. Cleanse your face with the soap, rinse, then use the scrub, pat your face dry, and use the moisturizer. This moisturizer costs a bit more than the others but it has really unique skin brightening capacities. It won't cake on your face and I think that after you use these three products, you will be amazed at how clean and soft your skin feels. It also looks and feels toned and highlighted from the moisturizer.

Don't try to hide your freckles or your rosy cheeks - they are so cute! I wouldn't put any makeup at all on that skin, because it sounds almost like peaches and cream, and that's very desirable. No need to cover your assets. ;) (The only time I might suggest doing a full-face makeup would be for a really formal occasion, and then I would only add minerals with a bronzer or a blush. Highlight under, or behind, the line of your cheekbone to continue with the slenderizing look.)

Play up your eyes and your lips. If you don't want to apply mascara, you can easily get away with using a creamy pencil eyeliner to make your eyes stand out. Try something in a smoke grey or brown or soft black to see what you like better. The smoky-eyed look is always in, and it's really easy to do it. Just apply the liner to your upper and lower lids as close to the lash line as you can get, and then smudge it. Go lighter for daytime and amp it up for evening, but don't be too shy OR too strong with it. You don't really want to "look" made-up, you just want to look pretty and natural.

Go for a colored gloss on your lips. I don't know your coloring well enough to give you specific color advice, but try to stay with the pinks and peaches and mauves for the most part. Wear something with more red in it when you are going out at night. If you would like to find some amazing products for eyes and lips at really low prices, check out:

The E.L.F. Lip Plumping Glaze is only one dollar (USD) and comes in beautiful shades. You can also find great eye pencils here.

With your eyes as the focal point of your face, you will automatically look slimmer and more put together. It takes less than 10 minutes from the cleansing process until you can walk out the door, so you're not getting into any high maintenance routine.

Also, do your nails, if you don't already. Even if they are short, which is often the best length anyway, a pale wash of polish (again, pink, peach, mauve -- or clear or nude) will make you look like you really care about your appearance. (Check out E.L.F. for the best prices!)

Well, there you have it! I hope you have a lot of fun experimenting with your new makeup and remember, "You're only as pretty as you feel. You're only as pretty as you feel inside." Jefferson Airplane, sung by Grace Slick

Wow, I really wish I could see some before and after pictures of you! Also, if you need any more help, I think you can email me through this site. Have fun, pretty girl!

Well, first of all let your hair down! natural and all!

Start wearing a little makeup! like brown mascara during daytime, some pinkish lipgloss and a nice pink blush on your cheeks. Start wearing nice cute-ish clothes, that'll make you feel girly and Cute (!), it's all about looking and most importantly Feeling good about yourself...a new wardrobe can fix that ;)

and for your dry hair, try a nice shampoo from tony%26amp;guy!

Accent your eyes... I'll bet your eyes are really nice. Make them pop out. Thin your features with some darker makeup on the sides...just make sure it is well blended and doesnt end promptly where your face and neck join.

Also, go to the MD and see if you may have a thyroid condition (hypo)...this causes difficulty in burning calories and dry hair.

Ahh, i know exactly how you feel. My hair used to be extremely curly, frizzy, and always dry and damaged. For your hair, i would definitely used a hydrating shampoo like 'Hello Hydration' from Herbal Essences. I would also get the conditioner, but only use it every OTHER day. You should use it every other day because believe it or not, your hair will get used to it too fast and become very oily.

Hair Styles:

Learn to love your hair! Use gel or mousse to tame it, i like to use LA Looks for a gel, extra hold ofcourse (: For the mousse if i dont want it to be as held down and want to go for a 'fluffier' look, i would go with Aussie's brand of mousse. They are great!

Make Up:

Make up is really only there to accentuate your natural beauty. I would go with some black mascara and apply to your upper lashes. Since your cheeks are rosy naturally, do not bother with blush. If you wanted any type of foundation or concealer, i would go with maybelline's dream matte mousse. It is really amazing and works very well, especially on lighter skin. Eye liners, if you also want that; i would go with prestige black eye liner on the bottom of your eyes to accentuate them and only make them look brighter. One last thing i will leave you with would be to use natural colors for your eyeshadows. Browns, greens, earth tones basically; nothing too extreme. (:

I hope I could help! (:

Ok, so since I dont really know much about how you look, I cant really say how you should do your makeup. Under source, I've given you a url for a free online virtual makeover. You can upload your picture and try different makeups on it. That way, you'll know what to buy. It also has hairstyles you can try on yourself and you can see what you like. Try searching for free online virtual makeovers if you want to try using a different program. You can also buy a virtual makeover program and it will have a lot more choices. I hope this helped!

Keep your hair frizzy we don't need more wanna be straight haired girls. MAke sure you use some hair moustirzer i use blue magic. If you want to loose weight for the sake of your health, make sure you eat foods and take vitamans that are benifical and try to get exersice right after a large meal. Don't go around starving yourself and throwing up. You are beautiful and i wish you would see that in yourself.

honey, don't worry what other people think!

my hair is about that same length.

i use a smoothing balm {{ mine is Garnier Fructis}}

But , for makeup, start off slow...foundation, light shadows, brown eyeliner.

my absolute favorite brand is Rimmell London. It's not too expensive.

first thing, don't over-do make up, that makes everybody look horrible, so just a little eyeliner, mascara%26amp; lip gloss. good luck!
