I have very wavy puffy hair

NOOOOOOOOOOOO, don't brush your hair when its wet. Hair is very fragile when wet, and it will break. You need a wide tooth comb, and start at the bottom and work your way up the hair shaft. don't try to pull the knots out. you may want to use a leave in conditioner also, like biolage daily tonic. trust me I've been a hairstylist for 8 years. good luck!!

My aunt owns her own salon and she says you SHOULD brush/comb youryou hair when it is wet to help prevent tangles. Do so with a wide toothed brush.

However, if you have weak hair, it could cause breakeage.

It's okay to gently comb your hair with a wide tooth comb, but not to brush it. Brushing it when wet can cause breakage and damage to your hair.

you should never "brush" wet hair! Always use a comb or a pick on wet hair. Brushes stretch and break wet hair. Do you have those little fly away hairs that stick up when your hair is dry? Brushing wet hair causes those!

You're not supposed too because your hair is weakest when its wet. It will not "give" and is therefore is more likely to break.

dont use a standard brush, hair is SO weak when its wet, you could damage it. i use a wide tooth comb, or a pick since my hair is really thick and wavy.

get rid of the bristle brushes, your hair will thank you.

cuz when ur hair is wet than the root of hair will be so week so if u brush ur hear than u ll lose ur hair.so people should not brush their hair when it is wet

You should brush your hair gently with a comb when it is wet because hair is alot easier to break when wet. If it is hard to brush your hair when it is wet you should use a detangler or a leave on conditioning spray so you don't break your hair.

I have way curly and kinky hair so when i get out of the shower i use a wide tooth comb made of metal and gently comb through ...wavy hair is prone to break and tear out of the scalp...you must be careful....hair is your crowning glory treat it with much much love

Your hair is at its weakest when it's wet. To prevent brakeage comb it with a wide tooth comb starting from the ends up to the roots. If your hair is very wavey and tends to poof, don't brush it . Just makes it poof more.Also if you blow dry your hair, use a defuser and low to med heat.Scrunching your hair as you dry it.

It has been my best experience to use a wide tooth comb to brush my hair. If you have curly and tangly hair like I do then use a conditioner that targets moisture problems. To answer your question, using a brush breaks the hair shaft and causes more split ends than normal. If I dont have a brush on hand (swimming for instance, then I will gently run my fingers through my hair from roots to ends. It seems to hold shine better and last longer between cuts.

I think it's much better to use a wide-toothed comb, and a detangling spray if necessary. Start combing at the ends of your hair and work your way upwards to the root to get rid of knots
